The Gaming Industry: From the 1970s to Today

After the success of many early video games, the industry would begin to see its rise with the release of the gaming classic Atari 2600 in 1977. This is arguably one of the steps that made the industry become more popular and known among the masses. The next leap of progress for gaming would be the release of the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985, which introduced one of the greatest and influencial companies to the industry.

The advancements and popularity of the gaming indutry would continue to increase with the release of Sony's Playstation 1, which would become one of the most popular gaming consoles to this day. However, a new player to the industry would be in the form of Microsoft's Xbox, which had good graphics for its time and amazing online play. Jumping forward to the present, the release of the Playstation 4 and Xbox 1 have allowed people to experience graphics that are very realistic and seamless. At this point, the industry has gained millions of followers and generated billions of dollars with console and video game sales.
